Flowers have certainly been flowering around the place a lot this week. Along with the sunshine over the past week, I have really enjoyed the past week-it’s been very colourful.

I’ll start with the deep purple flowers of this lavender. I prefer this variety to the paler ones as it’s more unusual to see.

Daisies, in their wonderfully wide range of sizes, colours and forms are always a favourite of mine. Both red-orange, orange and yellow ones have been a big feature of my week.

I love seeing red bottlebrushes. They are such a unique type of flower-so colourful and cheery in the sun. I’m looking forward to many more weeks of colour from this lovely shrub.

I would be failing in my duty as a lover of nasturtiums if I didn’t include this flower today. As always, it’s one of my favourite flowers from the week.

When in flower the fringe flower looks fantastic. With its pink-purple flowers that look like tassels and its purple-green leaves, I don’t think you can go wrong.

Grevillea flowers are another favourite of mine. I’m not sure what cultivar this is, but I do like the pale pink and cream colours of the flowers. I also love the blue of the sky in this photo, it tells me spring is here!

Viburnum oderatissimum, or sweet viburnum, is usually used as a hedge around Sydney. It’s not my first choice as a hedge because the leaves are so large. It really should be left to grow into the small tree that it should be! But, I do like the flowers, which are small and delicate. It’s also quite an attractive plant when healthy so I can’t complain.

Indian hawthorns are coming into their own at the moment with their pretty white flowers. I love these shrubs as they are as tough as it gets and are attractive with it.

Geraniums are very pretty plants, as you can see. I love the red flowers in the photo below. What I don’t like about them is the smell. I doing know why I dislike the smell so much, but I do find it very off putting!

This is the flower inflorescence of the common spear lily. It’s native to northern New South Wales. Most of the year it’s a breather bland, strappy plant but in early spring, it has a bit of the showy about it, which I like.
