As is always the case, I went for a bush walk on Saturday morning, to get fresh air and to get away from people for a little while. I always come away feeling more relaxed and calm after my walks, which is a great thing.
This is one of my favourite views across the water. The combination of water and plants is always a favourite of mine. I always wonder what is over there, and what interesting plants and animals that I could see.

The rocky outcrops are always interesting around the area too. There is a very short path round the back of these rocks, but it doesn’t go anywhere. It is often full of people fishing.

In spring, many eucalyptus get reddish new growth which eventually turns green. This leads to a lovely range of colours on the tree-lined hills. I quite like the colours in the picture below.

In the other direction are the mangroves, the species being the river mangrove, Aegiceras corniculatum. I do like the flowers of this species, very pretty.

Here is a species that has featured here before, the mountain devil. I really like these quirky flowers and their fabulous red colour.

Sydney red gums are starting to shed their bark. I love all the different colours shown on the bark, rom orange to purple to red and grey.

Below is a close up of the bark, with all its many colours. The reason for the tree being my favourite is all these lovely colours.

Views across the creek always make me stop for a few minutes and watch the world go by. I’ll often have a seat on a rock or fallen log up here for a few minutes, enjoying the peace and quiet.

Finally, a little bit of lichen. I’m not sure on the species, but I quite like the fluffy nature of it.

That’s my weekend walk done and dusted. I have only been on one this past weekend, because I have been busy doing some chores at home, mainly so that I don’t have to do them when I’m on leave next week! I’ll have plenty of time for bush walks over my time off.
