Over the weekend, I went for a walk in one of my favourite spots, Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park. I did go in the afternoon rather than the morning and the one thing I noticed was that when the tide was out, it looked so different.
I headed along my usual route, towards the walking track through the mangroves. While it does look very different, the views up the creek are still some of my favourite.

To get over towards the mangroves, I have to cross a bridge-this is the view from that bridge on one side.

On the other side of the bridge is another creek. Up this way, I am used to seeing all the sandstone rocks reflected in the water. I couldn’t see the reflections on this visit. With the sun on the water, the reflections don’t matter-I’m just happy that I can enjoy such spaces a short distance from home.

Beyond the mangrove boardwalk track, there are paths up the small hills. I love looking across the hills from this area. The hill in this picture is one I haven’t walked up yet, mainly because I don’t know if there are paths or not up there.

Looking down the hill, it seems odd not seeing any water in the creek bed.

That’s all for my walk through the national park, although I did enjoy sitting in the shade for a while before heading home.
