I have new seedlings!

On getting home from work today, I found several seedlings have now germinated.

A couple of weeks ago, I sowed the following seedlings:

  • Tomatoes: ’Tommy Toe’, ‘Jane Uzbeck’, ‘Uncle Toby’s La Stupenda’ and ‘Nonna Peppina’
  • Capsicums: ‘California Wonder’ and ‘Sweet Chocolate’
  • Chillies: ‘Early Jalapeño’ and ‘Habanero Mustard’
  • Rudbeckia: ’Sahara’ and ‘Prairie Sun’
  • Spring onion: ‘Red’
  • Echinacea: ‘Purple’
  • Sweetcorn: ‘Golden Bantem’
  • Cosmos: ‘Rubenza’
Some of the seeds I sowed a couple of weeks ago

While not all of my seeds have germinated, a fair few have. Some tomatoes, chillies and/or peppers (they all look exactly the same at this small stage) have germinated, along with a couple of other seed varieties. I never label my seed sowing pots, mostly because I can never be bothered when it comes to doing the job! This is why I can’t tell you whether it’s chillies or tomatoes.

Thankfully, all my seeds have been inside since I sowed them. Today has been really hot, so my new seedlings would have been fried in the sun! Depending on where I look, the maximum temperature for home has been 33.5 degrees Celsius according to my weather station or 34 degrees Celsiusaccording to the Bureau of Meteorology (Australia’s official weather service). My car said 37 degrees on the way home. Either way, it was too hot in my opinion!
