When I’ve travelled, especially by myself, I’ve met new people by doing interesting stuff and being open to conversations with new people.

I love having random conversations with random people in new places-from having a good chat with a bloke from New Zealand in Ronnie Scott’s jazz club in London (who enjoyed giving me some stick for living in Sydney) to the young girl in Vietnam who wanted to practice her English (her parents were with her)-as you come across new land interesting things.

My travels to the UK and Vietnam last year were great anyway. Being open to having a random conversation with someone, while going out doing new and interesting things makes the holiday better.

There is a big wide world out there with lots of interesting people in it. Don’t shut it out because it’s different.
