After getting home, I only had a quick walk around my garden as I’m really tired today. I am pleased to say that I have seen some new growth out there, which has cheered me up.

I’ll start with the beans that I sowed a few weeks ago. I did think that most were a lost cause as there was no single of germination at all. Today, there is one bean seedling germinating in the second pot, which is great news. The beans that have germinated in the other pot now have their first true leaves.

While I am on the subject of beans, I now have two broad bean plants flowering. Altogether, I have at least six flowers, with plenty more on the way. I am really looking forward to trying my beans. It will be a while before they are ready, but I really am encouraged by their flowers as something is going right in my garden for once!

The peas that were decimated by snails seem to be starting to grow again. One or two of the stubs lest by the snails have some very small leaves growing. While I am not convinced that I will ever get any peas from these plants, I am happy to see some new growth on them.

That’s generally it for my outdoor garden today. Inside, all my seedlings are doing really well. They seem a lot happier now that they have space to spread their roots out a lot more than they could beforehand. I can’t wait to get these little plants outside.

This is mainly because I want to sow some more seeds for my summer food crops, but slap because they will only start growing at their best when they do get outside. I may have to use some window sill space in my son’s bedroom over the weekend, although the seeds will have to compete with several cacti plants. My son is a big cacti fan and cares really well for them, despite still being a teenage lad!

Anyway, I will stop dribbling on about my garden for the day and get a cup of tea made and read for a little while before getting a good nights sleep.
