It’s always nice to be surrounded by flowers, especially when I am working. Their colours always cheer me up, especially in the sun. It’s the same when I smell their fragrances-its lovely to get them on the breeze.

First up today is a new plant for me, which is ‘flaming Katy’, or Kalenchoe blossfeldiana. I love these little bright orange flowers-they are perfect for the shady spot they are in. I’ll have to do some more reading on this plant as it’s a new one.

This delightful rose is called ‘Daybreaker’, according to the associated label. I love the colour of the flower-especially as the roses on either side of it aren’t yet flowering. Apparently, this lovely floribunda rose flowers throughout the summer without stopping-that sounds great to me!

This unopened rose, complete with the resident bug, is the ‘Peace’ rose. I have read that this is one of the most famous roses in the world. It entered the rose hall of fame in 1976. Once open, I think this rose will be lovely. I checked it again earlier and it still wasn’t open, which is a shame. Again, this rose flowers throughout the season, and is also fragrant.

Talking about fragrances, this Snowy River wattle, or Acacia boormanii has one of the best smells you can find. The small, yellow flowers don’t look like much but the smell travels a long way! I’d have this tree in my garden just for the smell of the flowers alone.

I’m including this hibiscus flower just because I love hibiscus flowers. I think it’s because I never saw them in England, so they always seem really tropical and exotic.

Camellia flowers are still looking great at the moment. It won’t be long before they finish flowering for the year, so I’m trying to enjoy them as much as I can.

Those are the flowers of my early working week. From next week, I’ll be working somewhere with less flowers unfortunately. I’ll have to get myself out and about over the weekend for my flower fix!
