In my garden this afternoon, I didn’t have my little helper, she was too busy being cute sleeping in a chair.

I have to say that I wish i could spend my day doing the same thing. It’s the life to have!
Anyway, out in the garden beans are still germinating. Very slowly. I’m looking forward to seeing them growing and flowering.

While I want to grow them for their beans to eat, I do think bean flowers are always so pretty in the garden. They are colourful and sometimes have interesting markings on their petals. They are also an interesting shape. The markings on this ‘Aprovecho’ variety of broad beans are a fine example. Food plants can have some decorative value in the garden, they don’t just have to be edible!

My cornflower plant is still growing well. I’ve actually no idea how big they are supposed to get, but I’m glad it is getting bigger. For a long time, it just sat at the same tiny size so didn’t think I’d get anywhere with it. My nasturtiums are still doing really well too.

I was looking at my tiny carrot seedlings earlier too. I now only have three. Don’t know what has happened to the others-I had loads of them the other day! To be honest, I sowed them on a whim anyway. I’ll keep an eye on these and see if I have any more carrot seeds and sow some more over the weekend.

My Brussels sprouts seedlings are a bit wonky. They only got potted up yesterday and I was hoping they would stand up a little straighter today. They don’t need to be completely straight, but it would make it easier to pot them up in future if they were!

That’s a quick Monday look at my garden. No assistance from Cuddles the cat today, but sleepy cuteness waits for nobody! I enjoy walking around my garden anyway, even without the cute company.
