A bossy cat in the garden

When I get home from work, I do like to have a quick walk around my garden, just to keep an eye on things. My cat, Cuddles, also loves having a walk around with me-I will often get shouted at to go outside with her! So out we went yesterday afternoon. As I will be out in the garden quite a bit over the weekend, I’m just going to give a quick update on what I saw.

My radishes have been growing well, despite the fact that a certain cute cat has squashed them a little and been digging around them. They are growing their true leaves now and I am looking forward to some home-grown radishes!

My broad beans are still growing well, but I still don’t have flowers. They are starting to get taller than I am now, which is a good thing. I am still wanting to see flowers and then beans in the near future. Hope is often a gardeners best friend!

That lovely broccoli plant that was growing so well with no snail damage has now got a lot of snail damage. Not happy! All it takes is one or two days of a lack of snail patrol and the damage is done. I’ll keep an eye on it over the next week or so. If it starts to come back well, I’ll keep it, otherwise I’ll remove it and plant something else in its place.

Snails are a pest!

That’s it for now. Over the weekend, I will be busy seed sowing, potting up, fertilising and watering. And sweeping up, which I don’t like but is very much needed! Once done, I’ll share the results with you over the coming weekend. Until then, happy gardening.
