A quick garden walk around

I haven’t done any actual gardening today, so this post is going to be really brief. I do like getting out on a Saturday morning to at least have a look around and see what is going on. Even though I was in the garden yesterday, there are some things that have changed, and for the better too. Thats one thing I love about gardening-things can, and often do, change daily, if not more frequently at certain times of the year!

My dahlia flower is now opening up really nicely. It is only small, but they do often say that good things come in small packages!

My opening dahlia flower

I was looking at the pot that contains my sweet pea seeds (to see which varieties I have sown, read here). There was no sign of anything growing yesterday, but I am happy to say that I have a couple of germinating seeds now. That has made my day, as I am looking forward to having some colourful flowers in my garden this winter.

Barely visible, but two tiny seedlings!

As I try and use my blog as a record of what is going on in my garden for future reference, I’ll note down my weekly weather stats. We have had a really nice, sunny week. The temperatures have been very pleasant all week and the humidity is a lot lower now, which makes everything a lot nicer in general too. The only rain that we have had was last night, something I can’t complain about at all.

  • Max temperature was 25 degrees Celsius
  • Min temperature was 10.2 degrees Celsius
  • Rain total for the week is 11.4 millimetres

Thats my garden update for the day. Not a huge amount going one, but some positives all the same. Until the next time, happy gardening!
