It has turned out to be a very wet Friday, with the rain being very welcome as we haven’t had much over the last few weeks. Thankfully, I have been able to stay at home in the dry today. Here are my plant highlights from the last few days.

First up today are these lovely frangipani flowers, mainly because I like them a lot. On a grey day, they add a cheerful bit of colour to my day.

Here is a new one for me. These flowers belong to Harpulia pendula, or tulipwood. This is a tree native to Australia’s eastern coast. I quite like the flowers, even though they are green and don’t really stand out.

Begonia flowers are always a delight to have around. This one is to be found in a tiny garden bed at work that is barely noticed by anyone, but these can contain the nicest plants that just do their thing without fuss or drama, and this begonia is doing just that!

Foxtail grass is a common plant around the gardens at work. They are often a decisive plant, some love them but many hate them! Ii they can be mass planted somewhere out of the way, then I think they look great. All too often, they are planted so that they spill onto footpaths and get in the way-something that I really don’t like as it makes more work when it isn’t needed!

I love grevillea flowers, they are definitely a favourite of mine. Today, I have two different flowers, one pink and yellow, the other yellow.

Callistemon flowers, especially red ones, are always so bright against the green of their leaves. This week, these Callistemon flowers are the stars of the show because I think they are so bright against the grey sky in this photo below.

As much as morning glory is a weed here in New South Wales, I do like the flowers. Purple is one of my favourite colours and the trumpet shape is a good one.
