What animals make the best/worst pets?

What makes a great pet? There are lots of aspects to this question:

• What animals do you like?
• Are you allergic to any?
• How much time do you have-can you care for any animal properly? Hint-if the answer is no, don’t get one!
• Where do you live and are you allowed animals?

Personally, I love my cat, she’s great. I didn’t think I would enjoy having a cat as much as I do when we got Cuddles, but I wouldn’t be without her now. She is a cute, fluffy bundle of mischief and chaos, but that’s why I love her to bits.

Personally, I would also love to have a dog too, preferably an English springer spaniel. I had one as a kid-totally bonkers, high energy dogs that love life to the max and I’d have one tomorrow if I could. BUT-we don’t have the space for a dog at this moment in time, especially a dog like a springer spaniel. I also don’t know that we have the time to do the decent walks that such a dog would need at the moment, so that wouldn’t be fair on the dog in question. We know that we wouldn’t have enough time or energy right now to have the second pet, so we don’t.

One day, we will have a dog as well as a cat-both are great.

On everyone else’s pet choices I can’t say what is ideal-only they can answer that. Provided those animals are cared for well, and that nothing illegal is going on, fill your boots!
