If only I could share the smells of spring with you all!

While this spring has been rather cool so far, there are still lots of flowers out. The bees and butterflies are loving them, which is great. Walking around, there are many lovely smells wafting around on the breeze from these flowers. I would love to share the smells with you, but technology hasn’t reached that level yet, so I’ll have to share some pictures instead.

This star jasmine (Trachelospermum jasminoides) is in full flowering mode at the moment. The flowers smell delightful as you walk past. The bees are loving it too.

Roses after have a great smell too, the rose below being no exception. It is also a really pretty colour.

Freshly cut grass is one of my favourite smells.

Even these lomandra flowers have the faintest smell-you have to get your face right in there though!

Gardenia flowers smell ‘creamy’ to me. It’s an odd description that doesn’t quite work, but it’s the best way I have of describing it. Either way, it does smell lovely!

Without the flowers, yesterday-today-tomorrow is a rather bland shrub. Add the purple flowers that fade to white, and it’s great! they also smell fantastic. It flowers in spring here in Sydney, so have it somewhere you can show it off where it also sits in the breeze!
