I thought that last week was a bit rough, but this week is turning out to be just as tough. It has been a week where things haven’t gone quite as they should, but I’m hoping they all look good by the end of tomorrow’s working day.

We have been doing work in the rose garden, we have been doing a bit of renovation work as the area hasn’t had as much attention as it should have in recent years. The rose beds have received more soil that’s been mixed in to the soil already there and then we are in the process of adding a layer of mulch. This will get finished tomorrow, after I had to go and get some more after we ran out! This turned into a bit of longer journey as I had to go to several stores nearby to get what I needed as the first was short of the amount of mulch required!

While working, we can, and do, use tools like wheelbarrows and to help cart soil and mulch around, this sort of job is still tiring work-you still have to shovel the soil and mulch onto the garden beds and then spread them evenly. This has been part of the reason why the week has been rather tough.

The other reason I’m struggling this week is that I’m finding it tough dealing with certain colleagues is an absolute drain. They seem to bring a certain level drama that isn’t required in the workplace and when they are working, it doesn’t always seem worth the hassle unfortunately!

On the plus side though, the work we have done will look good once completely finished and will benefit the roses in the coming year with the extra nutrition they are now getting (especially when they have their winter cut back). I’ll also enjoy my weekend doing things that I enjoy, so I can’t complain too much!
