What a difference a day makes!

Yesterday, we had a lot of rain-in total, we had 108.7 millimetres up to midnight last night. As I thought as I was writing my blog post yesterday, we are having a far more pleasant day today-there is sunshine, a slight breeze and no rain. It is still a chilly (by Sydney standards) 11.6 degrees Celsius outside at 9.30 am, but that’s a good thing for me as I struggle with the heat and humidity in summer.

I had a quick walk around my little patio garden earlier to see what the damage to my little seedlings was. I have to say that there is little to worry about so far. One or two of the tiny brassica seedlings did get a bit of a battering so may not survive, but I don’t expect all to survive anyway. I’m hoping that there is no more epic amounts of rain until they are a lot bigger!

My beans are doing ok too and growing quite well. They are almost insisting on not being trained up the stakes in their pots next to them. This just means I have to go out a bit more often to encourage them up the stakes more often. The patio area is, if anything, more messy than yesterday, but that’s expected.

In the meantime, I’m enjoying a hug with my champion little fluffy assistant gardener, Cuddles the cat, who never fails to be very helpful at digging what she shouldn’t!
