Yesterday was the busiest day that I have had for a long time, even though I don’t have quiet days at work! I was running solo on the mowing, which is a big job for two or three people, never mind one. I am thankful I had my little ride-on mower, they are far quicker in larger areas than push mowers.
While I was on my travels around the place today, I have to say that the jacaranda trees were looking fabulous in their purple glory. They are at their best in spring as the flowers appear.

Close up, the flowers are as pretty as they are from a distance.

On the grass, the flowers look lovely when they fall.

After getting home, I had a little walk in my own garden, once I’d had a shower to wash all the dust off! There are still plenty of flowers around in my garden, including these broad bean flowers.

This ‘Orchid Cream’ nasturtium has to be the best flowering nasturtium that I have in my garden. It makes me smile every time I look out the window.

The alpine strawberry plants that I potted up a few months ago is now flowering. I have only got one flower so far, but one is better than none, especially being a bright and cheerful yellow.

My beetroot is also bright and colourful, with its red stems and green leaves. while I will always have flowers for the colour, any other colour in my garden is always welcome.

I have found a couple more tomato flowers on another plant. I am really happy with this. Based on the way the plants are growing at the moment, I am glad that IO sowed the seeds early. I’ll hopefully get plenty of tomatoes over summer.

I checked the post box today and found that my native plant seeds have arrived. This will be going into the back garden when I have sown the seeds and they have grown enough to be planted into the ground.

I will do all the prep work to get these seeds ready to sow, and then sow them, over the weekend. I am looking forward to giving these seeds a go. Once I have sown my seeds, I will start clearing the weeds from my back garden.
