A day of nasturtiums in the garden

I have had a walk around my garden this morning, as I haven’t been out there over the past few days, other than to quickly water my plants. I am pleased to say that my plants are very happy in the sunshine and warm weather.

The happiest plants in my garden are the nasturtiums. There are so many flowers out and looking so good. I have been going on about theses delightful flowers for a couple of months now, mainly because these flowers are one of my absolute favourites!

My Echeverias are looking really good. I do like having succulents like these inside, just because they are so easy to look after and care for, while also looking good. With these though, I wanted to see the extra colours in the leaves that only being in the sun can give so I keep them outside. This also gives me an excuse to be outside, just to admire my plants. That’s part of the fun of gardening to me.

At the moment, I think ‘Fiona’s Choice’ above is my favourite. This frequently changes, with ‘Dark Night’ below often being my favourite. I think to probably depends on my mood.

My tomatoes are growing really well. It seems like they grow a few centimetres every time I look. I’m really looking forward to my tomatoes when they are eventually ready.

Here is my little melon plant with what I think is a leek. Both are also growing well, just not as fast as my tomatoes! As long as they are growing and healthy, the speed is lest relevant to me.

Most of the seeds that have been sown over the past few weeks haven’t germinated , which is a shame. Most of them were older seeds that I was hoping would grow. It’s a shame. There are two certainties in gardening, which is that not everything will be a success and that you learn more from the failures than the successes. I enjoy it either way.

My plans for my weekend’s gardening include fertilising all my plants growing now. They are due for a good feed. I’ll probably give them a good dose of seaweed solution too, as they haven’t had any for a while.

I am also going to sow some more seeds, but I cannot say what I will sow at this moment. It will be a case of looking through my seed packets and sowing what I fancy at the time. I’ll keep you posted on what I choose.

For now, that’s all I have. Until next time, happy gardening.

  1. Those nasturtiums are lovely. I grew them for the first time this year, but need to look out for those beautiful Orchid Cream ones!
