I had a quick visit to Apple Tree Bay in Ku-ring-Gai ChaseNational Park on Saturday. I didn’t feel like much walking if I’m honest, I just wanted to sit and enjoy the views more than anything, so that’s what I did.
Many trees are putting on new growth at the moment, including this Sydney red gum. I love these trees anyway, but with the pink new growth, I think they look better. There is a reason why they are my favourite tree!

I took a close up of the leaves from another tree, in part just to play with my camera. I like the result though.

I saw these flowers on another tree in the bay. I do love these trees anyway showy nature of the flowers from the plants in the Myrtaceae family, of which eucalypts are a part. They are all stamens and showing off. Why would I not?

Looking over to the other side of the creek, I liked the reflection of the mangroves in the water.

I didn’t notice the flower buds on this tree when I took this photo. I think that this tree will look great when the actual flowers appear. I will probably head over there again next weekend to see if the flowers have come out yet or not.

I saw this she-oak growing through the rocks on the bank of the creek. It is one of the healthiest she-oaks I have seen in a long time, it is clearly vey happy with its situation.

While I was there, I was enjoying the sunshine and views. I would happily spend all day down here if I didn’t have other stuff to do!

If I turned away from the water, this hill view is what I had. Lovely.

I love spending time in this national park. I always feel far more relaxed and happier as soon as I enter the park. That’s why I try to come down here every weekend at some point. I also enjoy seeing different things every time I can come here. Whether I see new plants or animals, new growth or the tides being further in or out than usual. The fabulous thing about nature is that it is always interesting and if you are willing to observe what’s happening, you will always find something new and interesting.
