After getting home from work, my little gardening assistant insisted that we go out for a walk around the garden. I was happy to oblige, as I always enjoy spending time with Cuddles the cat. It’s our thing and I’m glad I went out there with her.
I have three different varieties of potatoes growing at the moment. Two are doing absolutely fantastic and I have not stopped talking about them. I am more than a little excited about trying some home grown potatoes. The third variety has been incredibly slow in getting going. The good news is that I now have three shoots appearing above the soil of the third variety. Hopefully, they will really start growing over the weekend.

The flower on my broccoli has fully opened. It is really pretty. This is a complete new one for me-I’ve never seen one before. I love having random stuff like this in my garden as I learn something new from it. There are a couple more flowers opening up too-I’ll have plenty of cheerful yellow in this area of the garden.

The best news in the garden today that isn’t going to be used as a food is my nasturtiums. Several of my plants have flower buds on them now. Nasturtiums are one of my favourite flowers and I decided to grow several varieties this year. There will be so much colour when the flowers open up.

I only have one carrot seedling left. It is slowly growing its proper carrot-like leaves, which is good to see. I’ll have to sow some more carrot seeds over the weekend and see if I can get more success.

While there is no guarantee of success with anything in gardening, I feel like I am getting somewhere with my garden at the moment. I am also really enjoying my gardening at the moment too, which is really important.
I’ll leave it there for today. When I’ve been busy with my gardening, I’ll keep you updated on how I get on.
