It’s that time of the week again where I can share some of the flowers I’ve seen over the past few days. I have seen a variety of flowers this week and I’ve loved all of them.

I saw this gazania yesterday. I love the deep orange-red colour of the flower. It certainly stands out next to the grey of the pavement and the green of the leaves.

I do like the flowers of purple heart, even though this particular plant is a little tatty! If you want to know more about purple heart, you can readread about it here.

As regular readers know, I love nasturtium flowers a lot. This delightful bright orange one put a smile on my face the other day while I was at work. I am looking forward to plenty of my own flowers

I do love a good succulent. This lovely plant is Echeveria ‘Afterglow’. I really like the shape and colour of the flower buds. It is a shame that I won’t be around to see the flower buds open as I am working back in my usual place from the start of next week. On the plus side, I do have a leaf from this particular plant that I am hoping will grow a new plant for me.

Here are some more flower buds that I won’t be able to see once opened. This is a bottlebrush (Callistemon). The whole tree is covered on these pretty flower buds-it will look amazing when the flowers are open. Its a shame I won’t be there to see it.

The flowers of the fringe flower (Loropetalum chinense) are very pretty and unusual. I do like this species, but it make me itch a treat if I touch it, which is quite common apparntly. It’s still a plant that I love seeing when it’s in full flower.

Finally for today, I have these lovely Indian hawthorn flowers today. I do like these plants as they look good even when they aren’t flowering. In saying that, they do look fantastic when they are in flower over late winter and early spring.

That’s the later half of my week in flowers done and dusted. There is definitely a lot of colour around at the moment, as well as a range of flower forms. Both of these help to keep me interested as I go about my day.
