On my walk in Lane Cove National Park over the weekend, I had such a good walk. It was so nice to be in the bush again. While in the national park, there was one tree that completely stole the show. It was a wattle tree that was a mass of bright yellow flowers. The smell in the warm air was also amazing.

I do love this time of year for the wattle flowers, especially the ones that have a lovely smell too. I don’t know which species this tree is, but here are some close ups of the flowers.

Other plants have started to put on a good show too. There is grey spider flower, or Grevillea buxifolia.

There are the pretty pink flowers that have been around all winter. They are the flowers of the river rose, Bauera rubiodes. They are really delicate, but are lovely in the bush surrounded by green.

Having not been down to this national park in a few weeks, it is clear that the seasons are changing. Spring is definitely coming. It always comes early in Sydney. The days are warmer than they were, as well as being longer. Plants are starting to grow again and flowers are appearing where they weren’t before.
