Being out in the bush is one of my favourite ways to relax. I feel so at ease as soon as I drive into my local national park for a walk. Its lovely. I usually take my camera out as well, it encourages me to get out and about, looking at stuff and doing some gentle exercise.
On my most recent visit to Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park, I was just having a play around with my camera, taking photos of reflections in the water. I can’t say whether my efforts are great or just average, but I enjoyed playing around all the same.
This rather quirky looking seed pod is from the silky hakea, or Hakea services. It is a member of the Proteaceae family that’s native to Eastern Australia. When it is in flower, it has a mass of pretty white flowers. I have written about this lovely plant before, here.
One of the many views of trees and plants I had along my way. It’s more than a little scruffy, but that adds to the charm of the place in my opinion.
I also like the water views from up on the hill. I could go a lot further when I am walking along here, but I dint think that I would make it home before dark sometimes if I watch the time.
Some of the trees in Australia amaze me as they manage to grow out of the middle of a rock! They must be able to get water and nutrients from somewhere, but they do seen bit odd by most other standards.
I came across these really pretty white flowers along my walk. I had a bit of a rest here as I was fiddling around with the settings on my camera to see how they impacted on the photos I took. It isn’t perfect, or even that good, but I enjoyed playing around for a while!
The sandstone in and around Sydney is really distinctive when you see it. This is one of many examples I got on my walk. I also like the way it has been eroded over time, as I like how it adds a little shape to the colours within the rock.
Finally is a flower from the coastal banksia, or Banksia integrifolia. I am loving these yellow flowers at the moment-I have been seeing a fair few of these trees lately, probably because they are in flower. If you want to read more about this species, read here.
These are the highlights of myth walk last month. As always, I had a thoroughly enjoyable time as I was walking along and minding my own business. The sun was out, it wasn’t too busy and I was enjoying the warmth.
