Flower Friday

Purple is the theme of the week apparently-this wasn’t intentional but as I really like purple flowers that’s fine by me!

These first little flowers are from Liriope. Native to China and Japan, Liriope is tough and does well in shade.

I don’t usually include grasses, but I like this one because of the colours. It’s a Pennisetum advena ‘Rubrum’ which has been mass planted in a garden bed which is a really nice effect.

I do like borage and its little flowers. This particular borage is growing really well at home, and these are the only flowers I currently have so I’m glad they are here.

Duranta flowers are really pretty. This one, with its green leaves and deep purple flowers is a far nicer plant than the yellow-leaved version.

This delightful plant is blue ginger, or Dichorisandra thyrsiflora. It is a native to South America, mainly Brazil. When these flowers are fully open, they will look great.

That’s all for this week. Until next time, happy gardening!
