Flower Friday

After a hot week at work with a couple of storms thrown in, it is now that time of the week again where I show my favourite flowers from my week.

Fair enough, this is not a flower, it’s a massive tree. I love statuesque trees of any sort, but when I looked up I just thought that the tree against the blue sky looked great.

Great sky and great tree

Gazania flowers are always lovely to see. I really like the contrast between the yellow flower and grey-green foliage.

Again, not a flower but something I could look at for hours. Tree fern fronds look great as they start to open up. This one comes from Cyathea cooperi, is a native of eastern Australia and is my favourite tree fern.

I don’t normally show white agapanthus flowers, but I have two today. They do look rather nice, especially when mass planted. I’ve included the first photo because of the little spider on one of the individual flowers.

Finally for today is Commelina cyanea, or scurvy weed. This is a native Australian ground cover with the loveliest blue flowers going. There were lots of little bees buzzing around these flowers on Thursday, which is something I like watching when I can.

That’s it for this week, until next time happy gardening!
