A Tuesday gardening update

After a hot day, I spent some time in my garden at home. I did some watering of my many plants and came across some mischief and a hopefully happy surprise.

The mischief is from this sweet little lady-although butter clearly wouldn’t melt!

Cuteness allows heaps of mischief

As well as having a sleep in my nasturtium pot, she decided that it would be great to sit in the pot containing my smaller dahlia, so it now looks a bit squashed!

A rather squashed dahlia

I was still at work at the time, but my husband was home. He told her off, but she wasn’t bothered apparently! Cats are delightful animals to have around, but they are very good at not giving a toss and carrying on with their mischief! It’s a good job she is cute!

Now for the positives in my garden today. The dahlia that got eaten has some evidence of life in it. I thought that I would leave the stem in the pot to see if it could come back at all and it looks like there is a very tiny leaf developing on the stem. I’m really happy about this as I was so disappointed to see one of my plants mostly eaten!

Not the best photo, but signs of life

Also great is that I have some flowers on one of my tomato plants. As tomatoes are a favourite of mine, this is good to see. Several other tomato plants have flower buds on, so I should get plenty of tomatoes.

I also had to stake a few tomato plants as they were getting a lean on, but that is an easy thing to do.

That’s it for my gardening today. Cuteness, mischief and signs of life and tomatoes. I can’t really get any better, beyond having some actual tomatoes.
