I’ve had another busy week this week, with plenty of plants really getting into the idea of growing now that it’s the end of spring!
First up is a rather rampant weed in Sydney, but I do rather like the flowers! The delightful flowers below are from morning glory in the genus Ipomea. This species is usually found in disturbed areas, like on the sides of railway lines, along with many other weeds!

This gardenia flower is at home in the communal gardens that we have. I love the smell as I walk past-I would describe it as a creamy smell, which is odd-sounding to me (and probably to everyone else too), but is the best way I have of doing so! A lovely smell for a lovely flower.

Duranta-one of my least favourite plants that I work with on a regular basis, but I do like the purple flowers!

Cardoons do have fabulous flowers too. I walked past this particular plant again earlier this week and it did put a smile on my face as it was pouring with rain!

This is a rather fun picture to me-the pink flowers of the bower vine (Pandorea jasminoides) appearing out of the sea of green leaves and white flowers of the star jasmine (Trachlospermum jasminoides). The bower vine must have self seeded, but I like the contrast between the two plants at the moment.

I’ve included this photo of my nasturtium flower just because I love the contrasting colours on its petals. Out and about, I only see various shades of orange nasturtium flowers, which I enjoy seeing a lot, but it’s nice to have something different too. Very, very pretty.

Finally, it is jacaranda flowering season. The trees provide such a lovely show at this time of year with their flowers. When I was doing my horticultural training, the college I went to was on top of a hill-the views were great in spring as you could see random blotches of purple surrounded by green, which was always lovely to see.

That is my week in flowers. Until next time, happy gardening.
