Mid-week walk around my garden

After work today, I had a walk around my little garden. I was looking at how all my seedlings are growing now that spring is definitely here.

I now have several bean seedlings making an appearance, not just the one that I had over the weekend. I also have a corn seedling now, which is even better. I just hope that I get some more over the next few days-being wind pollinated, corn needs other corn plants nearby to be able to produce the said corn, so I’m keeping my fingers crossed.

Below are some brassica, beetroot and onion seedlings. I’m glad that they are growing well and that I’ve had no snail damage on these plants!

A lot of these seedlings are flowers, with a few brassicas and onions thrown in. Flowers include zinnias, rudbeckias, cosmos and delphiniums. I am really looking forward to how my garden will look in a few months time!

Flower seedlings

The first seeds I sowed back in August are mostly growing well. They are all things like tomatoes, chillies and capsicums with some cabbage too. It seems a long time since I sowed them, but it’s only been a month or so. They are happy to be outside and in bigger pots.

The progress of my first seedlings

I am happy so far with how things are going. I always forget that it takes a while for plants to grow and that they don’t get big overnight. It’s a good lesson in patience though!
