Flower Friday-22/08/2025

Today is a rather short one due to a very wet week, where I have done worked mostly in the shed doing tool maintenance and tidying up. I have managed to get some photos for you, so here we go.

This grevillea flower was looking bright and showy against the leaves (of a box shrub) and the general gloom on the day that I took the photo. I do like the colour of these flowers, as well as the shape.

My African violet is a continued favourite of mine. Ive had it a few years now and consistently gives me these fabulous purple flowers. I have it on my bedroom windowsill and I rarely see it without flowers. Normally, I don’t do very well with house plants, but this is the one for me I think!

I have chosen this strelitzea for its colour and unusual flower shape-just like with the grevillea above. The orange and blue is a good colour combination to me.

Finally, the bottlebrush flower is so colourful, I had to share. I don’t really need to say much apart from the fact that I like these flowers too.

That is all for today, so I wish you a happy gardening weekend.
