Over the past couple of days, we have had so much rain! Most of New South Wales has had the same weather over the past week or so as the weather system has moved steadily south. Further north of Sydney, there are so many areas that are now flooded, the same will probably the same in Sydney and then south from here.

Yesterday, we had 81.6mm of rain at home, according to my weather station. Today, at 8.11 am, we have already had 81.8mm of rain since midnight.

I live on the top of a hill, so I doubt there will be any flooding at home that causes damage to my home or building (it would have to rain some for that to happen!). On the other hand, my plant pots are not faring so well this morning! These photos below are what I have woken up to and it isn’t pretty!

If there is a pause in the rain today, I will get out there and empty out as mulch water as possible. How my little plants will deal with this deluge, I don’t know, but I can’t control the weather! Some sunshine would be great now.

It is interesting how I deal with a few days of rain since moving to Australia from England. Growing up in England, it was normal over winter to have weeks, and even months, where there would be rain every day in some form. In Sydney, I have got used to a lot more sun for more of the time, to the point where I struggle a bit when the rain lasts for more than a day! I think I’ve turned soft since moving to the other side of the world.
