Today has been a rather eventful day, mainly for the nonsense that people are always going to have when they work together. So, while I thought it was rather entertaining in its own way, here are my plants of interest today-they are consistently lacking in dramatic nonsense which is one thing I love about them.

Strelitzia flowers are always good looking. While far from the showy orange and blue flowers of other species, the flowers of the giant bird of paradise (Strelitzia nicolai) are still impressive to look at, even if the colours are muted.

These leaves are really pretty. I like them because they are a grey-green colour and they aren’t all the same colour over the whole leaf. I like a bit of contrast in leaves sometimes.

This philodendron leaf is great-huge with deep lobes, it certainly stands out.

Turf grass is as boring as it gets, but this crimson fountain grass is a lot more interesting. Planted in a garden bed all of its own makes even more impact with the colour and the seed heads catching the sun.

Finally, frangipani flowers are coming out here in Sydney. I love these flowers as they are quite simple but still look good.

That’s my day in plants. While not striking in terms of brightly coloured flowers, plants can still show off in other ways, as I hope these plants show.
