A rather nice trip into Sydney

As we hadn’t been for a trip out to the centre of Sydney for a while, my husband and thought it would be nice to go there for lunch to enjoy the last of the warmth, before it gets cooler again. I got taken to a proper good sandwich shop, but that is a side to the plants that I saw while out today. As much as I love my food, I don’t do any sort of food blogging and this isn’t the place where I’m going to start.

Where we went was rather leafy, which is something I really like in any urban area-the trees cool down the area by quite a lot, especially noticeable on a day like today at about 34 degrees Celsius. A lot of streets in this area are similarly leafy.

This particular tree, shown below in the next two photos, caught my interest. Mainly because it’s knobbly, a bit gnarly and some sort of eucalyptus. I just thought it looked pretty good if I’m honest-a lot more interesting than cars or buildings!

My tree of the day-a bit scruffy-looking but appreciated all the same!

While walking to a bench to eat our lunch, we (more likely just me) saw this banksia in Moore Park. I like banksia trees and shrubs. I am turning, more and more, into an Australian plant nerd!

Walking towards the metro station I saw a good few fig trees. I do like a fig tree too. The shade was also appreciated as we walked underneath!

The shade of these trees was appreciated today

When we arrived home, we had my champion little furry garden helper snuggled up on the chair. While I haven’t had a gardening session today, Cuddles often does come and help when I’m out there doing my thing.
