Wildlife today

Out in the gardens I have been working in today, there has been a fair amount of wildlife about.

Where I currently work is full of snails hiding under the low-growing plants and ground covers. While many people consider snails to be an utter menace in the garden but I think they are a valuable part of the garden. I say this because, if nothing else, the snails are food for many animals in the garden. I leave them to get on with their day, although others I work with are not fans.

I have seen a few yellow and black ladybirds around. I haven’t seen any red ones which is interesting.

Ladybird on my arm

This little stick insect was on my weed bin earlier, which was pretty cool. I don’t have a clue where he appeared from but it was good to see.

I also have a video.

I have also seen birds and dragonflies out and about today. It always brings me great joy to watch wildlife in the garden, getting on with life without any need from us!
