Pizza

What’s your favorite thing to cook?

Pizza, as many would agree, is the food of the gods-at least in my house! My son and husband especially could probably eat it for every meal. While traditionally, it is a simple Italian dish with tomato, mozzarella cheese and basil, it has turned into a dish that is endlessly adaptable (although purists would probably hate that).

Pizza is also an easy thing to make. The dough is easy to do-a little elbow grease is good when kneading the dough, put your weight into it (I share if need be, I have a little too much!), give time to allow it to rise and you are good to go! I always make my own pizza dough, I never buy pre-made, they just aren’t right (but that is my preference and choice, my opinions should never get in the way of anyone enjoying pizza in their own way-it’s too good for that nonsense!).

Unfortunately, we don’t have a pizza oven, so my oven goes as hot as it can and I use a pizza stone-the more time this has to get hot the better. I roll my dough, add the relevant ingredients for the person in question-we all have it a bit different at home-in the oven it goes. Once cooked and eaten, I have to happy lads at home. I’m happy because I’ve had pizza, have two happy customers and I get out of washing up!

I do have to thank the fantastic folk of Naples in Italy for giving us the fabulousness that is pizza-the world would be less tasty without such fine food!
