Today, I got out in the garden briefly to do some gardening. The weather has been sunny but feels ridiculously humid (although it says it’s only 66% humidity outside). I have had some help this week of my darling little Cuddles the cat, who is always the most helpful of furry critters!
I managed to get several of my tomato’s, beetroot and borage potted up today, which is a little overdue, but I have been struggling for time over the past couple of weeks. What I have done is put the borage in with my tomatoes as a bit of an experiment to see how they go. I’m not sure how that will work out, but I do enjoy just giving things a go when I’m gardening. I also potted up my nasturtiums-they all went into the same pot, so when they flower, there should be a mixture of purple and cream flowers. I’m hoping that it looks nice when they do.

Unfortunately, I ran out of potting mix part way through doing my potting up. After I’ve got some more, I’ll need to pot up my spring onions, two tomato plants, my Brussels sprouts and one beetroot plant, which is where Cuddles came in as really ‘helpful’.
She decided, in her infinite fluffy wisdom, that this beetroot plant needed some extra fertilising, so added some vomit to do the job. On looking closer, there was also a couple of hairy caterpillars and an ant or two around. Needless to say, this won’t make it onto the plate!

I’ve also seen a couple of different butterflies around over the past couple of days. I have some mushrooms in an avocado pot tree-a rather fetching yellow colour. I’m leaving them well alone-the colour is likely to mean it isn’t that good for you!

I also have a random cucurbit. I’m not sure whether it is melon, cucumber or melon at the moment. It is flowering as I write, so we will see what happens!

That is my weekend gardening roundup. Not much, but, as always, I am busy doing all sorts, so any proper gardening that I can do is always a good thing for me!
