Animals today

One of the reasons why I love gardening and being in the garden is that I get to see lots of wildlife.

First up is this butterfly. Don’t ask me what it is as I don’t know, but there were several of these flying around today, which was a joy in the horrible humidity that we’ve had today. Thankfully, we have now had a thunderstorm and that humidity has gone!

A random butterfly

This cute little bird is a galah. They are a species of cockatoo that are widely found within Australia. I love cockatoos in general, but I think that galahs are my favourite species of cockatoo around.

I have also seen white butterflies and other birds like magpies, sulphur-crested cockatoo, kookaburras and ravens, among others. Dragonflies, bees and little lizards have been busy too. I love watching them all as they are so industrious.
