One of the things that I do enjoy look out for is lots of critters going about their daily life as if I don’t exist. I get great pleasure from watching wildlife everywhere I go.
Ladybirds are one of my favourite little critters. They eat stuff like aphids, which can be a frustrating pest on plants like roses. Both lady birds and their larvae are fantastic for this job.

Bees are another favourite of mine. I’m not just talking honey bees and bumble bees here. All over the world, there are several thousand different species of bees, all doing their thing by pollinating plants. The best way to help all bees is to have a wide range of flowers in your garden as possible. Of course, I do think that you should have flowers native to your area BUT if you love having some flowers from elsewhere in the world in your garden, then that is no bad thing. Just look after all your garden plants properly and prevent the ‘weedier‘ plants from spreading out of your garden.

Birds are great things. They can cause mischief, but they are doing as nature intended. They will come and eat those caterpillars and aphids, and other such things if you let nature get on with it (and leave chemical on the shop shelf).

While most people hate slugs and snales as they don’t like holes in the leaves of their plants. They either don’t know, or forget in a fit of unneeded rage (or other emotion, insert here), that only a few species eat plant leaves and they all provide food for birds and other animals.

I also come across lots of spiders, especially at work. Remember that they are more scared of you so don’t scream like a nutter-leave it alone and get on with your day!

That’s all for today, I hope you enjoy your weekend.
