I have done a bit of pottering over the weekend to get various chores done. As I was actually doing some walking in my local area that I don’t normally do, due to having no normal need to, it was quite nice on a sunny day.
The rhododendrons were in full show, with shades of pink and some white on full show. As a general rule, I’m not a huge fan of these plants due to the fact their leaves are always getting bothered by pests here in Sydney, but I’m a big fan of the flowers at this time of year.

Bougainvillea is a pain to look after, but the bright pink bracts and small yellow flowers are also great at the moment.

This next picture is of a tree called turpentine, the binomial name is Syncarpia glomulifera. It is a tree native to the east coast of Australia.

I love red bottle brushes in flower, the flowers stand out with their intense red colour against the green surrounding them.

Here are some of recently sown seeds-they have now turned into broccoli and beetroot seedlings. I’ll pot these up over the weekend, along with sowing plenty more seeds for other vegetables that I want to grow.

Grass tree flower spikes are great to look at when in full flower, so that’s why it’s here.

With this last picture, it is clearly a cat rather than a plant. If you haven’t seen her before, this is my cat Cuddles. The reaction to being let outside into the warm sunshine was pure happiness-she was rolling around leading her best life possible! I’ve included it as a reminder that we all should take the time to enjoy simple things like the sun on our face when we can-simple things can be more enjoyable than anything fancy or expensive.
