Another tough week is finally at an end. While winters are quiet, which is an absolute relief after the chaos of summer, I would take the madman chaos every time. I say this because, in the middle of winter I am now struggling with a slight bit of boredom.

While I am at work, I hate sitting still and struggling to find things to do. The grass doesn’t grow, and neither do my hedges. There are jobs that you only get chance to do in winter, with these jobs being particularly monotonous so get boring very quickly!
It has been good this week for the fact that the mulching we have done makes those areas mulched look so much better. It also helps that clients notice these relatively small things, often making it seem like you have done more work than you have!
This week has also been dry but cold. It is nice to be away from the rain and have some sunshine for a change. For me, the sunshine makes such a difference to my day, making it more cheerful by far.

In terms of dealing with more plants in a horticultural way, I haven’t done a huge amount, apart from deadheading some bird of paradise flowers.

Next week promises to be busier, which will be a more enjoyable for me. In the meantime, I’ll enjoy my weekend of relative peace and quiet!

That rose is amazing!
Also… this is a test. I’ve tried leaving comments under your posts before, and WP keeps telling me I need to log in, first – but won’t give me a log in screen (of course, I’m already logged in).
This time, I’m trying directly from the notifications bar. Will it work? We shall see!
Your test worked!
That rose is also a particular favourite of mine, although there are a few other very nice roses in the rose garden too, which I feel quite lucky to look after.
