I’m planning on doing a lot of exploring

Since moving to Australia twelve years ago, I’ve loved the flora and fauna in the country. I do enjoy my work when I am actually working and have things to do, but I’ve never really learnt enough about the many different species that there are out there.

I find these plants fascinating as they are so different to the ones back in the UK (where I came from). So, my plan is to go out and about and learn about as many Australian plants as I can (along with any reading I may do), among with the following:

  • See plants in their native habitats and learn about these
  • What their uses are now, if any, and what they have been used for in the past
  • Can they be grown in gardens and urban areas? If not, why not?
  • Ways that these plants can be protected

Eventually, I’d love to go all over Australia, but for the time being I’ll be talking about plants in the Sydney area, especially those local to my area.
