My week in plants

Flowers are still the main theme of the day, but other things are included because I find them interesting.

Below is the flower of Melaleuca quinquenervia. This is another native tree that I’m rather partial too as I love the flowers.

Melaleuca quinquenervia

This is Grevillea rosemarinifolia, named so because the leaves look a bit like those of rosemary.

I think camellia flowers are always pretty, especially when there are a couple of colours in the petals.

Roses are always great to look at. I love the colour of the first one below is fabulous. I think the water droplets look good too.

These cute little flowers belong to Escallonia rubra. While this shrub isn’t that common here in Sydney from what I’ve seen, the flowers are really pretty.

Grevillea flowers are fabulous and colourful. These two flowers below are in the process of opening up and show some of fabulous colours of grevillea cultivars available today.

Th bark on gum trees is really interesting. The range of colours and patterns is always fascinating.

These pretty white flowers are from Crassula ovata, or the jade plant.
