My seed shopping

I have recently done some seed shopping, mainly to add some more varieties of vegetables and flowers to those that I will be growing in the spring.

Tomatoes are one of my all-time favourite foods, they always have been. As well as my ‘San Marzano’ and ‘Tommy Toe’ tomatoes, I thought I would try ‘Black Cherry’ tomatoes and ‘Nonna Peppina’ tomatoes which are apparently good for saucing too (just like the San Marzano tomatoes). I also got some ‘Sweet Chocolate’ capsicum seeds.

Sticking to the Solanaceae family theme, I thought I would give these chillies a go. I like chillies for adding a bit of spice to food, plus this selection loom really colourful!

I got some more peas, rock melon and watermelon seeds that I hope will do well in pots and two types of Brussel sprouts.

Other random seeds

On the flower front, I got the following seeds:

  • Poppies
  • Sunflowers
  • Nasturtiums
  • Sweet peas

I’m excited to get seed sowing now, although I will have to wait until spring and I’ve tidied up my patio area!
