That time of the week again!

On yet another soggy day in Sydney, I thought I’d share the pictures of my week with you. I am a day early-I normally try and do it in a Friday, but as I’m on leave from now until the end of next week, it’s happening on Thursday instead.

This Cycas revoluta is fascinating to me. The central part shown is really interesting, which is why I took the picture. I’m going to have to do more reading to work out exactly what is going on, rather than just the reproductive area of the plant, which is what I love about plants-I can always learn new things about them!

I am rather partial to hibiscus flowers, as you may know. Today I have orange and crimson, both of which look great.

While most frangipani trees are loosing their leaves and have stopped flowering now, there is the odd one that is still going. Those that are still going are in a sheltered spot next to buildings and still get some sun through the day. While this flower is still opening, it is still pretty, with raindrops adding a little atmosphere.

These rhododendron flowers opened this week, putting a smile on my face. It looks a bit of an uninteresting shrub, but these white flowers brighten the area up.

This rose is my favourite rose that I look after. I really love the colour of this one. I’m not sure of the name, but in many ways this is irrelevant. Anyone can enjoy a plant or flower for its own sake, without names and science-these can make plants more interesting but aren’t the be all and end all.

That’s my week in plants, which I hope you have enjoyed.
