A brief update on my garden

In my rather messy garden, I have removed the rather dead tomato plants that I have have been meaning to do for weeks now.

I have also potted up my tiny little seedlings, which are mainly my brassicas. I am hoping that now they are in bigger pots and thus have more space to get growing well.

The forecast is for mainly sunshine over the next week or so, with the odd bit of cloud. Temperatures are expected to reach a max of twenty-four degrees, which is quite warm for this time of year. I am hoping that the week is as pleasant as forecast, my plants will be grateful for it after all that rain we’ve had recently!

As for my other plants, my one capsicum plant is growing its fruit still, although they are still small. The plant still has flowers galore on it too, which I think is great! I’m going to let it do its thing and see where we end up (part of the fun of gardening). My beans are growing well still, apart from a couple which have died unfortunately. My sweet peas are still quite small, but alive, as are my garden peas.

My two brassicas going ok

I was going to sow some more seeds today, but I’ve decided that I should get the patio swept up instead. My seed sowing can wait until next weekend, when I have had a chance to plan what seeds I will sow.

One final thing that I have done is brought in my cacti for the winter. Many in the pot would probably be ok outside, my favourite two (both a Melocactus species, although I’m not sure which) are unhappy in temperatures under ten degrees Celsius-I don’t want to end up with a dead cactus!

Anyway, back to my sweeping!
