Random finds of the week so far

It is only a Tuesday today, but over the past few days, I’ve had the chance to find some interesting plants and fungi on my travels.

These mushrooms were sat in the trunk of some I tree that I was working near the other day. I thought that they looked pretty cool, so here you go. I think I’m going to have to start learning about all these fungi I keep coming across-I’m turning into a mushroom geek too!

As it is autumn at the moment, I thought I’d try and get a bit of ‘autumn colour’ before it completely disappears. It has been a good year for this in Sydney, but I’m normally driving or busy doing something so haven’t had chance to take photos before now.

Camellia flowers are my thing at the moment too, so here are pretty pink and white ones.

These pretty flowers belong to Duranta erecta. To be honest, I have only seen this shrub at this location. Normally I see the awful yellow-leaved cultivar that is normally hedged, and never stays tidy! This species is actually pretty-more should be grown, especially for these purple flowers.
