Interesting listening

I have just started listening to a new podcast called Unearthed: Journeys into the Future of Food. It comes from the Royal Botanic Gardens Kew, narrated by the botanist James Wong.

The podcast does talk about our food and where it comes from, of course, but it covers other fascinating plant topics like their impact on medicine, on wildlife crime, fungi and others.

To me, it often seems that people don’t know much about plants-they are something in your garden that are a chore to care for on a weekend or unappetising things on the side of your plate. Plants are fascinating things in and of themselves and can provide us with so many benefits. This is where this podcast comes in, as it explains wider aspects of plants, food and the science around them. It also does this in a way that’s accessible to a wide range of people, not just plant geeks like me!

The podcast can be found on your favourite podcast app.
