I have been busy with gardening stuff this morning, which has been really good, although I haven’t managed to do the sweeping up yet because of the rain. I’ll do that once it dries up. I managed to get everything else done that I wanted to, so I’m happy.
The first job of the day was potting up some seedlings. The cauliflower and broccoli seedlings I sowed a few weeks ago were done first. Overnight, several of these were eaten by a snail, but I still managed to get twelve seedlings to pot up. I can’t say how many of each were eaten by the said snail, so it will be a surprise how many of each I get. The snail was found and removed to the back garden to do its ting on other vegetation.

The other seedlings I potted up were the poppy peony ‘Flemish Antique’. Because they are still tiny, I potted the mass of seedlings into some fresh general purpose compost in one go. when they have grown bigger, I’ll pot them up again so they have more space.

My tomatoes, chillies, capsicums, leeks, spring onions and sprouts are all growing well, but are still too small to pot up. Once they get a few more leaves on them, they willbe ready to go.
I also did some seed sowing this morning. I sowed the following:
- Carrot ‘Heirloom Mix’ and ‘Purple Dragon’
- Bean ‘Painted Lady’, ‘Baby Sun’ and ‘Lazy Housewife’
- Pea ’Sugar Snap Dwarf’
All of these seeds have been direct sown outside in pots. It’s also the first time that I have tried growing carrots, so I’m interested to see how they turn out. Hopefully very tasty!
I’ve not talked about some of my other plants recently, so I decided to give them a quick mention. Below is my Echeveria ‘Dark Night’. While the older leaves are a little dog-eared from my mates the snails, I do like the colour around the edge of the newer leaves. I out all of my echeverias outside as they have better colour in full sun.

I haven’t mentioned my one surviving cornflower plant. It has recently started to grow really well, surrounded by nasturtiums. I’m hoping I will see some lovely flowers at some point in the future.

As for the weather over the past week, we have had plenty of sunshine, except ver the past couple of days. We have had 8.2mm of rain. Our high temperature was 19.5 degrees Celsius, while our low was 8 degrees.
That’s all for my gardening Sunday. During the week, I plan on doing some more seed sowing and other pottering around, but more on that when I get to it.
