A new commitment to snail patrol!

After coming home to snail damage to my peas, broccoli and sprouts, I really do need to be getting out into the garden every day to remove any snails I find. Over the past few months, the number of nails has been ridiculous! I am committing to this because of the fact that I have sown more seeds this morning and I really do want to have some food and flowers from the seeds I have sown.

Im hoping to grow more of these brassicas

I have sown the following seeds this morning:

  • Poppy Peaony ‘Flemish Antique’
  • Pea “Greenfeast’
  • Cauliflower ‘Mini’
  • Onion ‘Australian Brown’
  • Brussels Sprouts ‘Red Rubine’
  • Broccoli ‘Waltham’
  • Radish ‘French Breakfast’

I wasn’t really planning on sowing so many different things, but as I was doing some seed sowing anyway, it didn’t hurt to do more than planned.

In sowing these seeds, I have also used up six lots of seed packets, most of which were already open. I am making an effort to use up the seeds I already have as I do have a lot of them. I still have plenty more cauliflower seeds to use, but I only have so much space, and we can only eat so much cauliflower at once!

Over the weekend, I will be tidying up outside as there is always tidying up to be done. I am also going to start thinking about what I am going to grow over the summer. If I can get a head start on sowing seeds next month, then I have a better chance of success with what I grow.
