Another busy week done and dusted, and one that has been fairly pleasant in most ways. The weather has been lovely and sunny and has finally got ‘cold’-by cold I mean around thirteen degrees Celsius, which isn’t cold really, but feels it in Sydney!
While morning glory (I’ve got some info here) is a weed here in Sydney, it does have very nice purple flowers. It’s a shame, really, that it is a very successful weed, but I don suppose you can have everything!

I love grevillea flowers, and don’t think that there are enough of them around. This lovely yellow one is delightful when I walk past it. It seems to flower year round too, which is even better!

This tiny little passionflower is from the corky passionflower. Again, this is another weed with a pretty flower. It’s unusual in that it is all green-I don’t see any other green flowers in my normal life.

My favourite flower of the week is my nasturtium ‘purple emperor’ flower that appeared earlier this week. The two contrasting colours of yellow and reddish-purple are really nice.

There is always a space for bright, colourful flower. This canna lily fits the bill perfectly.

Another of my own flowers from the past week is this broad bean flower. If it carries in this way, I’ll end up with more flowers over the winter than I have over the past seven or eight months. I can’t complain at that!

Another bright flower is this bird of paradise flower (read about it here). I love the blue and orange colour combination.

I haven’t seen a hibiscus flower this perfect in a long time. Whatever the owner of it is doing, I hope they carry on doing it.

Finally for today is some bougainvillea flowers. While the flowers with their pink bracts are delightful, the rest of the plant is a nightmare to deal with! It is so thorny, that you can’t help but get hurt when cutting it back!

That is my week in flowers. Plenty of colour, plenty of different flower forms and I really like the variety.
