New echeverias for my garden

I am a fan of many succulents, echeverias included-so I ordered two online and they arrived in the post today.

The first one that I ordered was Echeveria ‘Fiona’s Choice’. I really like the colour of this one, which is why I chose it.

The second one that I ordered was Echeveria ‘Dark Night’, again chosen for its colours.

I also got a freebie included with my order, which was this cute little Echeveria ‘Star Mark’.

As all three plants came through the post bare-rooted, I went and bought some special cacti and succulent potting mix and the two terracotta pots on my way home from work. As I wasn’t expecting a third plant, I had to use a plastic on I had lying around (but it will get a terracotta pot next time I’m at the garden centre).

The advice sent with my plants says that the compost (freshly opened) should be moist enough for them for the next week or so while they settle into their new home. While these three lovely plants will be house plants, I will have to keep an eye on them as we are due for some really hot days over the next week, with Saturday expected to be forty degrees Celsius at the moment! A little water may be needed earlier than advised, depending on how my new plants look.
