The leaves of plants are essential for photosynthesis, which allows the plants to produce sugars for energy. This energy is used for growth extracting water and nutrients from the soil and to maintain the health of the plant. Leaves also vary is size, shape and colour, so I’m going to show some of my favourite leaves today.
Canna lily leaves are often very interesting and as colourful as the fabulous flowers. Their leaves can be interesting in just having different shades of the same colour, as the second picture shows with different shades of green.

While most grevillea leaves do look similar in most cases, there still is a fair amount of difference between them if you choose to look.

Roses are loved by many. While the leaves aren’t as interesting as others, these ones are lovely and greed with an added ladybird too.

Pig face is a native Australian succulent ground cover. It does well in dry areas with full sun or part shade. It’s a favourite of mine, eave. Before the pink flowers.

Banksia leaves are variable between species but I have a soft spot for these shrubs and trees. The leaves are leathery and tough, perfect for the Australian climate.

Callistemon leaves are a little boring compared to the showy flowers really, but I do like a Callistemon, especially with the red flowers.

I love this Cordyline. The colours within the leaves are very vibrant. I also love the patterns within the leaves too. Who needs plain green when you have these ones instead?

Eucalyptus leaves are always fabulous-the muted greens to almost grey colours, the rustling in the wind and, best of all, the smell of the oils which is the best smell going as far as I’m concerned!

These are just some of the leaves that I have seen recently. I could add more, but that would take me days to trawl through all of my several thousands of photos I have on my phone!
